Title: Whats the best way to prep Oxy IR for IV
Post by: captainjojo on August 07, 2011, 12:40 am
Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to prep an OXY IR 20 (while oval tab, bisected with Oxy on one side, IR on the other and 20 on the back side) for IV. They seem to have a large amount of filler.

Normally I would just crush them with a mortar and pestle, then add some sterile water and heat, using a filter when filling the needle.

But I am sure a fairly good percentage is not being transferred to the liquid.  I hold the remaining filler back, and if I put it in some juice later when I am sober, I will still get a buzz from it.

Thanks

i would highly highly recommend not IVing pills.

crush it as fine as possible and 'plug' it, you get 100% bioavailability, long duration too. incomparably better for your health

Lot's of oxy generics need to soak in the water for 10-15+ minutes to release the oxy into the water.
Just stir stir stir for 10+ minutes and you will get the oxy out of the binding agents.

Thanks for the advice brokeh, but it's too late for me.  I find you just cannot get that initial rush of euphoria when doing opiates the other ways.  Insufflation comes closest, but still, it is not the same.

Strangely enough, the one thing I have never tried is chasing the dragon, which I believe is supposed to have some of the same rush to it.  The first time I tried the real thing (H), I snorted it, but it just didn't do much, so I moved straight on to the next step.  But I have learned over the years that it should be a treat, not part of my regular diet.

Nomad, thanks for the tip.  It seems so simple an idea, I cannot believe I never thought of letting it sit for 10-15 minutes before.  I'll give it a try the next time I self-medicate.
